Socaplast recycling plant in Houthulst
Situated in Houthulst, Socaplast mainly recycles PVB, a high-tech plastic that is compressed to a film for use in the production of laminated glass. PVB also has several specific benefits due to its safety properties (preventing injury from flying shards of glass), its sound insulation properties and also because of its resilience to heavy knocks. Socaplast takes quality very seriously as a supplier to the car manufacturing industry.
Socaplast also recycles a number of other plastics including:
- PP: corrugated sheets, yarn, packaging film, household goods, crates
- PE: pallets, large trays and bins
- PET: bottles, preforms, fragments, regrind flakes, pellets
- PS: trays, cups, coat hangers
Socaplast is able to shred, grind, agglomerate, granulate, wash and dry waste plastic.
A new branch of Socaplast was set up in the USA at the beginning of 2008 called Soca USA. The same principles are followed by Soca USA in providing an environmentally friendly, one-stop, customised service. As in Socaplast’s other branches, state of the art technology ensures optimal production capacity and even better recycling methods.
