Recycling Polystyrene or PS

Polystyrene comes in all shapes and sizes, from egg boxes and meat trays to coffee cups. We don’t actually recycle expanded polystyrene (EPS) which is often used to protect electronic goods and fragile items. EPS is too light and voluminous, consisting of only 5% polystyrene and 95% air! However, we do recycle standard PS, the majority of which is used for the production of toys, plastic cutlery, coffee cups, fast food containers, salad packaging, TV and computer cases and cassettes.
